INDIAN KITCHEN TIPS

 

 

 

  • To avoid insects and to have longer shelf life of red chilli powder, add a little amount of salt and store it in a dry air tight container.

 

  • While preparing puri dough, add a spoonful of sugar to make the puris crispy for a long time.

 

  • To get Ravva dosa crispy add a little amount of rice flour to the dough.

 

  • To make idlis soft add little hot water or cooking oil to the dough.

 

  • Add 2 pinches of cooking salt to the daal or vegetables to cook them fast.

 

  • For longer shelf life of cooking oil add a small piece of tamarind.

1.      To restore the aroma of spices for along time, they should be preserved in the Refrigerator instead of Kitchen.

 

2.      To avoid ants/ insects in the kitchen cupboards, salt water should be sprayed in the corners of cupboard.

 

3.      To make Rotis easily digestible, 50gms of fenugreek power should be added to 1 kilogram of wheat powder.

 

4.      To have more shelf life for suji, it should be fried before preserving it in a container.

 

5.      Add a little amount of Glycerin to jam while preparing to make it tastier.

 

6.      Add a little amount of Asafoetida to powdered chillies, coriander seeds and other spices for long shelf life.

 

7.      Always closed cooking of vegetables is advised for avoiding loss of vitamins.

 

8.      If there are any carbon paper markings, wash with mythilated spirited cotton or cloth to remove the strains.

 

 

9.      To make Dosas crispy soak a spoon full of fenugreek seeds along with rice and make the batter.

 

10.  While making dosa /Idli batter in a mixer add a few ice cubes to the batter to make the batter more and soft.

 

11.  While making chapattis /Puri batters add milk for good taste and better health.

 

12.  To avoid burning of eyes while cutting onions put them in an air tight container and keep in the refrigerator for some time.

 

13.  To avoid odour of plastic containers   wash them with salt water before using.

 

14.  To make Vadas (South Indian Dish) Crispy add few spoons of rice floor to the batter.

 

15.  To prevent tarnishing inside pressure cooker place squeezed lemon peace before

      Cooking.

 

16.  To prevent insects in rice add a few dried red chillies while storing.

 

17.  To clean greasy hands wash them with lemon juice and hot water.

 

18.  To make curd quickly in winter season add a little amount of tamarind to milk.

 

19.  To make apple pieces fresh and white store them in water to which little amount of lemon juice and salt is added.

 

20.  To preserve cooking oil for long time add a little amount of tamarind to it.

 

21.  To cook Daal quickly and softly add small piece of coconut.

 

22.  To keep the freshness of leafy vegetables, wash them with raw rice cleaned water.

 

23.  To remove ice cream tray from the freezer, place an oiled paper under the tray.
